BlackBerry Z30

BlackBerry promised a selection of devices in 2013 on the new BlackBerry 10 platform and it seems there's another, larger, model to sit about the BlackBerry Z10.

Named as the BlackBerry Z30, there's no official word from the struggling company, but a series of leaks reveal some of the details. We're looking at a 5-ich display giving you more room to play, along with wireless charging. There's talk of a 720p resolution on that display, which might not appeal to those Android users looking at a 1080p display, but if you want to go large with BlackBerry, then this might be the way.

No confirmation yet as to when we might see the device launch.

 HTC One Max

The HTC One and the HTC One mini are both a hit with us: we rate the HTC One as the best phone you can get right now, but that could be swept aside if the rumours of a larger HTC One model prove to be correct. Our own sources tell us that a larger device is coming and there have been plenty of leaks detailing what we might expect.

First up is a 5.9-inch full HD display, putting the HTC One Max into phablet territory. This is joined by the rumour of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, meaning plenty of power.

It should also retain the features of the HTC One family that we love: that will mean you're looking at a slick aluminium design, twin front-facing BoomSound speakers and the rear UltraPixel camera.

All will be pulled together by the lovely HTC Sense 5 user interface layered over Android. There's no official confirmation, but there's a world of rumours building for the HTC One Max.

Nokia Lumia 1520

Nokia isn't staying quiet. There may be some wranglings between old Nokia and Microsoft, but there's also a huge device in the wings. Yes, the Nokia Lumia 1520 has made a few well-timed leaks, purporting to be a 6-inch 1080p Windows Phone.

There's little to go on at the moment, but we're looking at Nokia taking Windows Phone to a new dimension. The leaked display shots, however, don't show much of a change from previous Windows Phone devices: will this simply give you more on the display, or will it make better use of the space on offer?

There's no word on timing, but it's believed to be looking at a launch in 2013.

Apple iPhone 5C



Apple has announced the iPhone 5C, which lands with the internals of the old iPhone 5, adds a dab of additional LTE support, an update to iOS 7 and wraps it in a plastic body.

It brings colours to the iPhone have haven't been there before and a slightly lower price point. It's not a huge discount, but remember that this is essentially an iPhone 5 in a plastic body, so it's still a top-notch device.

The iPhone 5C will be available from 20 September and pre-orders for the handset will be commencing on 13 September.




Apple iPhone 5S

It seemed likely that Apple would update the internals of the iPhone 5S and leave the exterior mostly the same, and that's just what they did. The iPhone 5S is physically very close to the previous model, but the front fingerprint scanner is an obvious change.

There's an updated 64-bit A7 processor, a new M7 coprocessor to handle motion, and an upgraded camera and flash. There's also wider LTE support, with Apple saying it supported all flavours of 4G.

It all comes wrapped in a shiny new iOS 7 package, delivering that familiar Apple experience, but with less clutter than previous models. The Apple iPhone 5S will be available from 20 September.

Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch

Wrist watches, smart or otherwise, are simply not for everyone -- there are more smartphone users in the world, many times over, than there will ever be smartwatch owners. Despite the limited market for such a device, however, Samsung's decided it's time to join in on the fun. The Galaxy Gear, as we've known it to be called for a few weeks now, was hardly guarded with a level of secrecy that's become standard for a flagship smartphone, but as the device is finally official -- and expected to launch in more than 100 countries within weeks.

The centerpiece of the Galaxy Gear, as you may have read by now, is a 320 x 320-pixel, 1.63-inch AMOLED touchscreen. There's a speaker and a pair of mics for recording and playing back video content and communicating with a caller via the built-in dialer, which works with the native phone app in your connected Galaxy device. The Gear includes an 800MHz processor, a 315mAh battery, and -- in a somewhat surprising twist -- a BSI sensor and autofocus lens mounted in the wrist strap that's tasked with capturing 1.9-megapixel stills and 10-second video clips at 720p, 640 x 640 or VGA resolution with sound. That camera, designed for on-the-go captures where convenience, not image quality, is a priority, is paired with a pre-installed app called Memographer. That application, and dozens of others that will be available at launch, are key to boosting the Gear's appeal, and setting it apart from the competition.

Experience new mobile communications freedoms

Samsung GALAXY Gear lets users to live in the moment while staying connected to their Samsung GALAXY devices. It notifies users of incoming messages, such as calls, texts, emails and alerts, delivers a preview of those messages and creates the opportunity for users to accept or discreetly ignore those messages. When an incoming message requires more than a quick glance, users can simply pick up their Samsung GALAXY devices and the Smart Relay feature will instantly reveal the full content on the screen.

Voice operation

The built-in speaker allows users to conduct hands-free calls directly from the Gear, maintaining connections to their mobile communications without disrupting their daily routines. For example, a user leaving the grocery store, whose hands are full with shopping bags, could still make a call by speaking into the GALAXY Gear without touching the screen. Users can also draft messages, create new calendar entries, set alarms, and check the weather on the GALAXY Gear with S Voice.

Capture daily life from your wrist

In addition to enabling smart device controls, Samsung GALAXY Gear introduces several features that help users easily capture life’s meaningful moments which otherwise might be missed. With the Memographer feature, a 1.9 Megapixel camera, users who are on the move or participating in physical activities can record both photos and video to create quick, visual records of important information or events from their daily lives, as well as share them on their social networks. Extending the quick-record concept, Voice Memo lets users capture important thoughts or conversations from their wrists and save those voice recordings into texts on their Samsung GALAXY devices.

A growing list of controls for favorite features

With the GALAXY Gear, users gain a wide range of favorite features that further increase the benefits of this new accessory. New security enhancement Auto Lock automatically secures the companion smartphone screen any time that GALAXY Gear is more than 1.5 meters away from the smartphone, and then unlocks the smartphone when the companion devices are near each other again. Find My Device helps users find the location of their smart devices when they have been misplaced by making them beep, illuminate and vibrate. With Samsung GALAXY Gear, users can also control the music played on their Samsung GALAXY devices. The Moto X is an upcoming flagship smartphone manufactured by Motorola in the United States. It will be available on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular in the United States, and will be a Rogers exclusive in Canada. The phone will be released during Late August to Early September.

They will still fit in a bigger screen in a thinner frame

For the many, the Galaxy Mega phones seem to have cut the leg off any future Note phones. Not true. The next Note will up the ante with a full-HD screen and will take the stylus-aware usage of the phone to a new level, plus throw in some some typical Samsung-ish jiggery-pokery where they will be able to fit in a bigger screen in  a thinner, smaller frame. Between the S4 and the next Note, Samsung will laugh all the way to the bank.

Sony introduces its new Android-Powered SmartWatch 2

Sony updated its smart watch Tuesday, introducing the Sony SmartWatch 2 at Shanghai's Mobile Asia Expo.
Designed to be used as a second screen for your Android smartphone, the water-resistant smart watch has NFC (near-field communication) connectivity, and can be personalized with apps based on how you want to use it.

“Competitors are only now launching first-generation devices, while we are already launching a third-generation device with all the insight gained from over half a million customers combined with Sony’s wealth of technology expertise to create the best ever smart-watch experience,” Stefan K Persson, head of companion products at Sony Mobile Communications, said in a press release announcing the watch.

“We have over 200 unique apps dedicated for Sony SmartWatch, with over one million downloads to date, and we are continuing to work with our strong developer network to deliver ever more compelling smart-watch experiences."

These experiences include the ability to answer calls by touching your wrist, take photos with your phone remotely via the SmartWatch and control presentations remotely using Sony’s “Presentation Pal.”

For fitness buffs, mapping apps for the SmartWatch can help track your biking excursions, while apps such as Runtastic can make it easier to monitor progress towards your fitness goals.

The watch also includes basic features, such as displaying caller ID information, calendar entries, as well as Twitter and Facebook notifications.


The Sony SmartWatch 2 will be available worldwide this September.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is put and selling millions, the HTC One has made serious waves, BB has the Z10 and the Q10, Microsoft has announced the Xbox One, Google Glass has intrigued the world, the Basis Band is out to rave reviews and the world of personal trackers is on fire! Do we have much left for 2013? Actually we've just scratched the tip of the iceberg. Here's how the rest of 2013 will look like.

By the time this economy BB phone is out, BBM will be on all other platforms and the true test of the BB strategy will come into play. Overall this is a nice-looking device. thin, colorful and very hip. Has to be sub-15k to make a difference.

IPAD MINI RETINA

One of the most awaited device specially for me.

This one is a given. The real thrust of iPad sales are from Mini. Expect the same body and shell, slightly souped-up specs, more internal storage and a retina screen. On the smaller sized display, that will be a feature to make those on the fence jump right in.

iOS 7 release date, features, news and rumours

One of the reasons for the success of the iPhone and iPad is the operating system, iOS. Praised for its ease-of-use and revolutionary interface when it launched, it was a long way ahead of the competition. However, in recent years, the OS hasn't evolved much. In fact, iOS 6 (available for current devices, such as the iPhone 5 and iPad 4) is more a tweak than a new OS.

With Android 4.2 providing plenty of new features and the big threat of the Samsung Galaxy S4, it's no wonder that Apple is looking to revamp its OS. The new OS should help with its upcoming products, the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2.



iOS 7 FEATURES

While it's generally easy to use, iOS is rather basic and hasn't changed much since it was launched. For iOS 7 Jonathan Ive is said to have been given a free-hand, allowing him to completely redesign the OS and interface. That will mean something completely different to what we've seen so far.

The first rumour is that iOS 7, codenamed Innsbruck, will ditch the 3D and skeuomorphic design of its predecessors. A skeuomorphic design is where one object is made to look like another, such as the digital Notes app being designed to look like a real notepad.

Instead a flat approach will be used instead. This will make the OS more streamlined and cleaner.

While the appearance of the applications is going to differ dramatically in iOS 7 - the Notes app is unlikely to look like a yellow pad of lined paper, for example, and the Calendar app won't have a 'leather' binding - their usability is thought to be unaffected. Users upgrading from a previous iOS release should adapt to the new interface rapidly, according to sources who have used pre-release versions of the software, while the core functionality of the operating system is unchanged.

Apple is also rumoured to be looking to overhaul the notification system in the software, providing more information and actionable notifications to the pull-down bar - a similar approach taken by Google for recent versions of its open-source Android mobile operating system. Rumours of OS X Mountain Lion-inspired swipeable gestures are also spreading, although it's not yet known how such functionality would translate to a mobile device.

One of the big rumours about the upcoming iOS devices is integrated NFC and the ability to pay for goods with your phone. This would most likely require an updated version of Passbook that supports these kinds of payments.



iOS 7 CONCEPTS

All of these rumours of a complete change has inspired some people to visualise what the OS could look like. One of the most interesting is the app-switcher concept, which you can see in the video below. Rather than switching between apps using plain icons, the concept shows what the iPhone would look like if it had large live-preview thumbnails of the apps. It's certainly impressive to watch, although it is completely unofficial.







Another video (below) shows another concept of how iOS 7 could work. One of the key things is quick settings, which lets you access common settings from the home screen (or any app), without having to delve into the settings menu. It's something that's needed, as it's currently quite annoying having to pile through lots of menus to make a change or connect to a wireless network.






iOS 7 RELEASE DATE

We'd normally expect a new version of iOS to come hand-in-hand with a new iPhone or tablet, which could mean the iPhone 5S or iPad 5. However, the most recent information seems to point to iOS 7 being unveiled in June at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). According to date from Onswipe, which uses HTML5 to create mobile-friendly websites and reported by TechCrunch, there has been a massive spike of traffic from iPhones and iPads running iOS 7. In particular, the traffic came from the area surrounding Apple's offices.

Apple usually tests new operating systems internally, before releasing them to developers, with consumers following a few months later. The increase in web traffic from iOS 7 devices suggests that Apple is getting ready to unveil its next-generation operating system.


With WWDC just round the corner, it would be the ideal place to show-off the OS, followed by an official launch in Autumn to coincide with new mobile devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to come with 3GB RAM and eight-core GPU ?

If rumors are anything to go by, Samsung could be increasing the screen real estate of the next-generation Galaxy Note. SamMobile is reporting that the yet officially-named Note 3 will come with a 5.99-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display that will sport the same diamond pixel structure as the current Galaxy S4.

The jump from the 5.5-inch screen of the Note 2 to the new 6-inch display makes sense. The S4 is catching up in size, and Samsung has to go larger in order to differentiate both devices. There's also competition from manufacturers such as Huawei, which has a 6.1-inch phablet called the Ascend Mate.

Besides a larger screen, the Note 3 will supposedly boast an octa-core Exynos 5 processor, a Mali 450 GPU packing eight cores and 3GB of RAM. It will reportedly run on the next unannounced Android OS.

The Note 3 is also rumored to be the same size as the Galaxy Mega 5.8, but with a smaller bezel. We can expect to see the Note 3 launched sometime in September, based on previous launches.

Pretty much it would be a bigger Samsung Galaxy S4. Its price would be very reasonable as it would be around $700 Unlocked and $299 on a 2 year term.

Innovative Lumia 925

Nokia added new member to the Lumia family, Lumia 925. It is the first window phone to be packed into an aluminium frame. It comes with sleek, metal finish design, a new AMOLED display to make it possible to view the content from more angles, and new features in PureView imaging technology.

The design is quite clearly stunning, and in a first for the Lumia range, features metal. The metal frame on the Lumia 925 not only draws attention to the phone’s slim-line good looks, but also lends robustness and functions as an antenna. The polycarbonate body and metal frame are fused together to create a perfect whole.

The 925 packs a 4.5-inch display, which is physically the same size you'll get on both the 920 and 928. The 925 and 928 however use OLED screens, rather than standard LCD which promise richer colors and deeper black levels as they don't need to be backlit as do cheaper screens.

Nokia already has good form for squeezing vibrant screens into its phones though -- its "ClearBlack" technology on the 920 and other phones is excellent. In my demo with the 925, the screen certainly looked impressively bright and bold, but I was seeing it in a dimly lit office -- in those conditions, even a poor screen would shine like a supernova.

Nokia has given the 925's camera a couple of small tweaks, too. It uses the same 8.7-megapixel sensor as its predecessor, but Nokia explained that it's improved the optics in front of the sensor. As well as the lightweight plastic lenses -- low weight is needed for the optical image stabilization -- the 925 uses a sixth glass lens which Nokia reckons gives better clarity, especially in daylight.

Nokia has also apparently improved its camera firmware to give better noise reduction in low-light situations. Until I can give the camera a thorough test, I can't comment on whether these tweaks are worthwhile. The Lumia 920 was already an excellent low-light performer, so let's hope Nokia hasn't messed around with that too much.

You will find some new camera software on board, chief among which is called SmartCam. This app (also integrated as a camera lens) takes a burst of 10 images that you can then edit into an action sequence, change the faces, or choose the best image from the bunch to save.

Outlook

With its new metal parts, the Nokia Lumia 925 is a sleek and attractive addition to the Windows Phone 8 range. Does it excite, though? No. It shares most of its key specs with the older Lumia 920 which doesn't really stack up well against the elite competition such as the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4.


We'll have to wait and see if the slight tweaks to the camera and the more sturdy build will make the 925 a serious smart phone contender.

An attractive design can bring a visitor for once but wisely designed blog can compel them to come back again to your site.



2. If there is more ad than the information. 

Many prominent bloggers differ from struggling blogger in the way that they give the information and content of the blog more importance than the advertisement.
